Safety is at the heart of every clay shooting experience with Guns & Clays. Before any shooting begins, your instructor will take you through a full safety briefing, explain how the shotgun is handled correctly and make sure you are comfortable before progressing onto the shooting itself.

If you are completely new to clay shooting, there is no need to have any previous experience. Your instructor will explain stance, gun mount, how to follow a moving target and when to pull the trigger. The aim is not simply to fire at a number of clays, but to help you understand why targets are missed and how to improve your chances of hitting them.

As your confidence develops, you can experience different presentations and sporting targets designed to challenge different aspects of your shooting. Targets may vary in speed, angle and direction, giving you the opportunity to develop a better understanding of the techniques used in clay pigeon shooting.

More experienced shooters travelling from Bedford and the surrounding Bedfordshire area are equally welcome. Instruction can concentrate on improving consistency, identifying problems with technique and developing the skills needed to tackle more challenging targets.

All necessary shooting equipment is provided for experience sessions, including the shotgun, cartridges, clays and appropriate safety equipment. Your instructor remains with you throughout the session, so you have professional guidance available rather than simply being left to work things out for yourself.
