Let us take a look at the shotguns preferred by seasonal shooters and picked for beginner clay pigeon shooting lessons.

  • Winchester SXP Trap

The Winchester SXP Trap is one of the most popular budget trap shotguns around. It has all the features you need for clay pigeon shooting lessons. It combines Monte Carlo stock and high rib for high-powered impact, double beads in front made of fibre optics, and a soft Inflex Technology Recoil Pad. You will like the slick pump-action if your shooting includes doubles. The SXP is an excellent shotgun for those who have to keep to a budget; you’ll likely use it if you are getting serious about trapshooting. The Winchester SCP Trap is best for the single, and double trap and is priced at £386.99.

  • Beretta A400 Xcel Multi-Target

You can spend a ton of money on different shotguns for clay pigeon shooting lessons if you have little knowledge on shotguns. However, the Beretta A400 Xcel Multi-Target is the right gun to splurge on. The A400 Xcel Multi-Target is perfect for clay pigeon shooting as well as skeet, traps, and sporting clays. The adjustable design allows you to switch the configuration according to the requirements of each course. This Beretta shotgun is equipped with an adjustable rib, comb, and an oversized bolt handle – not to mention a balancing cap, and extended choke tubes. Made of standard material, the barrel size is either 30 or 32 in, and the gun is priced at £2,418.72.

  • Blaser F16

Voted Shotgun of The Year in 2016, the Blaser F16 attracted a vast fan base when it was launched at a British shooting show. Since then, it’s been a real headache for the competitors in the shotgun market. A perfect and easy to handle shotgun for clay pigeon shooting lessons and veteran shooters alike, it is similar in design to its older and more expensive sibling, the F3. However, it has a better grip than the F3, is slimmer, and is semi-rounded. Barrel options are 30-32 in with standard wood grade, manual safety catch, and plain action. The Blaser F16 is priced at £2,550.

  • Browning 725 Pro Sport

When the Pro Sport was first introduced, it was with the idea of competing with the more expensive and higher-end guns in the market that ranged from £4K to £5K. However, the new Browning 725 Pro Sport remains price competitive. The standard Browning 725 action has let it become a useful clay pigeon shooting lessons shotgun. It comes with extra barrels and stock weights, adjustable stock, and recoil pad. It also has a full set of chokes and fibre optic sight beads. This shotgun is approximately £2,600.

We had an experience day with Guns and Clays recently, our instructor, Richard Halsall gave us a fantastic time. He was a great instructor and made it a very memorable time for both my son and I. He even let my wife have a couple of shots. We didn't stop laughing the whole time and look forward to going back soon for some coaching maybe.

We had out 1st experience of shooting shotguns with Guns & Clays last Sunday and Richard was an exceptional instructor. His patience for myself and my partner as complete novices was remarkable and made us feel at ease using these guns. From the initial walk through instruction to firing the guns at the clays this was a great experience and would definitely recommend Richard to anyone wishing to have a go at clay shooting which is not as easy as first thought but amazing when you nail them with a blast from the shotguns. We used 20 and 12 bore shotguns on the day which was great !!! Well Done Richard !!!

As a first time shooter I was nervous when I came, I was quickly put to ease after speaking to Mike Williams the instructor. He has a lot of experience, very funny and a great tutor. I missed my first few shots but with the right guidance I managed blast a few clays. Overall I've had a great experience and would definitely recommend anyone to try it.
